Stephen Curry and LeBron James shared a moment as Team USA arrived in Las Vegas for training camp

Steph and LeBron have always desired to play together.

Lastly, NBA player Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors will play for Team USA. For the previous few seasons, Curry has been coveted by LeBron James, the franchise player for the Los Angeles Lakers. James is now granted his wish as they get together to form Team USA.

On Thursday, athletes began travelling to Las Vegas for camp. Stephen Curry was the first to arrive, showing how excited he was for his first Olympics. When James arrived, he dappled Curry and exclaimed, “’bout time!” Curry responded joyfully.

Even though the 12 players have been together for years, this weekend marks the start of their real adventure as a cohesive unit.

The US Olympic team is set to compete at the Paris Games later this month, where they want to win a gold medal for the fifth time in a row, having spent months preparing. Prior to their exhibition debut against Canada on Wednesday, the team will begin a four-day training camp with their first session this Saturday in Las Vegas.

Saving the USA Team
Team USA saw again another humiliating World Cup last year, finishing fourth in Manila after finishing seventh in 2019. The United States’ failure to field its best possible team for those tournaments served as the explanation, or justification, for these losses.

Reports suggest that LeBron James will start for Team USA at the Olympics. Despite speculation about his age possibly leading to a bench role, James is set to start as a power forward and take on primary ball-handling duties, while Stephen Curry is expected to play off the ball.

At 39 years old, James has demonstrated that Father Time is far from slowing him down, putting up impressive numbers. Last season, he played 71 games and averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds per game, cementing his status among the NBA’s elite.

With James orchestrating the offense, the team will benefit from optimal scoring opportunities. His exceptional court vision allows him to identify the best shot for each player and recognize who is best positioned to execute it.

Curry, a four-time NBA champion, will play a pivotal role in making this happen. If he and LeBron James can establish chemistry, it could be the catalyst for the team to maximize their potential and regain the dominance reminiscent of the Dream Team era.

After obtaining superstars like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, and Kevin Durant for the Olympics, the expectations are very different this time around. James is back on the Olympic team for the first time since 2012, and he wants to win three gold medals. In the men’s Olympic basketball competition, Durant is aiming for a fourth gold medal, which might set a record. They are joined by one gold medallists Adebayo, Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, and Devin Booker.

Embiid, Curry, Kawhi Leonard, Tyrese Haliburton, and Anthony Edwards are all making their Olympic debuts. Though France was eager to have the Philadelphia star play for the host nation in Paris, the Americans convinced Embiid to take part. While James, Curry, and company have a chance to avenge their defeat at the Olympics last year, the future of Team USA hinges on their ability to consistently field top NBA players for all major international basketball tournaments, not just the Olympics. Team USA’s top priorities right now are building their squad and preparing for the challenging 2024 Olympics. Although they are the overwhelming favourites to win gold, they are careful not to let their success in the FIBA championship last year fool them.Stephen Curry is the primary ball handler while LeBron James is playing off-ball.
