On Thursday, Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors’ point guard, confronted his opponent. Madame Tussauds San Francisco unveiled the wax statue of the basketball legend at the Marriott City Centre in Oakland, California. The figurine is dressed in his famous number 30 jersey.

The NBA champion and his wife, Ayesha, felt a twinge of nostalgia upon seeing the statue. One of the couples first dates in Los Angeles included a trip to the Hollywood Museum.
“That was one of our first experiences together, walking through and taking pictures with the wax figures at the museum, and now to have one of my own is pretty special,” Curry said reporters in a news statement.
Curry, the NBA’s most valuable player in 2014–15, has the ball frozen in the palm of his left hand, making him eternally immortal in wax. With the help of hundreds of measurements, sculptors and artists laboriously recreated the 28-year-old athlete over the course of more than four months.
In order to portray the basketball player’s likeness, the group concentrated on his four tattoos, which included the first letter of his wife’s name, “A,” on his ring finger. The finished statue, which came at a cost of approximately $350,000, will be permanently on display at Madame Tussauds San Francisco.
“We are excited to welcome NBA sensation Stephen Curry from the Bay Area to our attraction,” Madame Tussauds San Francisco general manager Chris Connors stated. Sports fans from all over the nation would undoubtedly visit his wax figure, in my opinion.
Curry will be at the Fisherman’s Wharf location with performers Zendaya and actress Laverne Cox.
