With a college player, Stephen Curry’s Curry Brand has inked its first-ever NIL contract. MiLaysia Fulwiley, a talented freshman basketball player from South Carolina, has joined the brand. This is significant for brand relationships as well as collegiate athletics.
As an ambassador for Curry Brand for a number of years, Fulwiley will have the opportunity to star in advertising campaigns, shoe releases, and the development of player-exclusive color schemes in collaboration with the brand’s design team. Since Fuller is the first college athlete at an Under Armour institution to represent the Curry Brand, he will wear the sneakers.
He had a significant role in the Gamecocks’ NCAA Tournament success as the top seed. Her deal with Curry Brand, an Under Armour brand, further strengthens her ascent to prominence in collegiate basketball. She competed for South Carolina as an athlete, representing Team Curry, an AAU squad supported by Stephen Curry, and sporting apparel from Under Armour. Her bond with the Curry and Under Armour families naturally extends to this.
Fulwiley’s big supporter, Stephen Curry, expressed his admiration for her skills and noted how well she meshes with the Under Armour squad. Fulwiley averaged 11.8 points per game, dished out 72 assists, and stole 52 balls this season. In addition, he created history by being the first rookie in South Carolina history to win MVP of the SEC Tournament.
“I don’t think many people have seen a style and flow to their game like hers in a long time,” Curry said in a statement. On3’s Nick Nakos brought this to light. Working with Curry Brand and her is such a special opportunity to join the Under Armour family and take on great projects together. I feel humbled now that I’m a member of the family.
The coach of South Carolina, Dawn Staley, commended Fulwiley’s generational skill and attitude toward the game. She also mentioned how the coach and the player are developing and learning.
Dawn Staley stated, “MiLaysia is an artist who is learning more every day about how to marry all the parts of her game together. She is a generational player.” Working with her on this process has been fantastic since we are both learning how to raise our game from one another.
