LeBron James is a dad going through a really unique time.
The four-time NBA Champion, 38, discussed the day’s earlier sports news, namely that his oldest son Bronny James, 18, had committed to play basketball at the University of Southern California (USC), following the Los Angeles Lakers’ victory in Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs on Sunday.
The father of three was smiling with joy as he spoke with Spectrum SportsNet, referring to the announcement as “one of the best days of my life.”
“Let me start by congratulating Bronny on his choice. Our family is really proud of him, and I am too,” James exclaimed. It holds even greater significance for me because it’s my family member’s first time attending college. Of course, I didn’t attend college.
“My son is the first member of my family to attend college, so it’s a happy moment for me to watch him go. Extremely emotional and proud, but also incredibly joyful and enthusiastic for his adventure “, he said in closing.
“I had a proud day today. I couldn’t lose today, regardless of how this game turned out.”
The NBA player also posted a picture of Bronny’s declaration to Instagram, adding his own message “FIGHT ON !!!” I’m so very happy for you, kid.”
“I just want to say how much I adore you, @bronny! LET’S DO IT!!!!!!🗶️️️️️ #GoTrojans.”
Savannah James, who also has a son, Bryce, 15, and a daughter, Zhuri, 7, with the Lakers player, commemorated the historic occasion by posting a poignant note for her eldest child.

I’m excited to see what the future has in store for you and want you to know that I’ve got your back at all times. 4L LFG! ️️️.”
