Upon the Lakers’ first trip back to the court following Kobe Bryant’s passing, LeBron James gave a detailed look at a very intimate remembrance of the guy he considers to be his brother.
He shared a close-up of his most recent tattoo on Instagram, which resembles a snake and alludes to Bryant’s moniker “Black Mamba.” Two flowers and the numbers 8 and 24 are entwined with its coils.
Beneath are the phrases “Mamba 4 Life” in the script.
James added a vintage shot of himself and Bryant during the 2008 Olympics, where the late star’s shoulder was where he rested his head, to go with the tattoo.
Vanessa Aurelia, a tattoo artist from California, had just uploaded a video of herself inking the pattern on James’ right thigh the day before. On his left thigh, teammate Anthony Davis was also getting inked with the identical design.
Before the Lakers’ game against the Trail Blazers, James had also hung a #24 Kobe jersey next to his own locker in the gloomy locker room.
Lakers coach Frank Vogel told Beth Harris of the Associated Press, “He’s been really a tower of strength for all of us.” “We’re following his lead.”
Portland beat the Lakers 127-119 on an emotional Friday night (Saturday am, Manila time).
