On June 12, Jokic, who is regarded as the best basketball player on the planet by almost everyone, helped the Denver Nuggets win their first NBA title.

Jokic seems to prioritize horse racing over other sports, though, as he spends more time with the latter.

The NBA MVP award is said to have brought Nikola Jokic less happiness than a trophy from a horse race. World of Fadeaway.

Jokic might now have more time to dedicate to harness racing, his other passion.

Horse racing is my passion, but my work is basketball,” driver and trainer Tim Tetrick said to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News. “I would trade jobs with you in a heartbeat if the pay was better,” joked Jokic.

Jokic is a huge horse lover. He also spent the majority of his time tending to his cherished horses at the stables. Jokic still thinks of the stables as his life’s treasure and could talk about horses all day.

 

Jokic and Trick met several years ago on Facebook.

“I am just a regular dude. “Low-key,” said Trick. “You wouldn’t know he gets paid $40 million every year to play basketball. He arrives at the barn wearing sweatpants. Then he gets his training suit on and jumps in, and he just enjoys hanging out.”

Jokic visited The Big M in December 2021 and checked out the action in the rear paddock. When ‘The Joker’ was in town to play the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks in March of this year, he spent some time at Brett Pеlling’s farm.

“He stopped in the barn earlier this spring,” explained Pеlling. “He arrived at six in the morning. He is knowledgeable about horses. He’s very eager to listen and wants to chat about horses rather than basketball. He’s really into learning. How do you train? How are you feeling? Really good questions. He has a solid foundational understanding. “He was definitely absorbing information.”

Jokic, 28, was on a farm in Sombor, a city in northern Serbia. He fell in love with horses, particularly racehorses, when he was a child and worked as a stall attendant for six years. When HRU showcased the triple-double King a year and a half ago, he had approximately nine trotters. He also has his own farm and a training track.
