In Monday night’s Game 2, Nikola Jokic played a key role in leading the Nuggets to a 101-99 victory over the Lakers. His brothers were also occupied.
Shortly after the Nuggets secured the victory to take a 2-0 lead in the first-round series, Jokic’s two brothers, Nemanja and Strahinja, were seen on camera punching an unidentified Lakers supporter in the stands.
TMZ Sports obtained witness testimony from those present at Ball Arena to confirm the occurrence.
The Jokic brothers, Strahinja and Jokic, were shown in a video uploaded to TikTok on Monday, stomping through the crowd until they came across a fan wearing a gray T-shirt. The fan was promptly struck in the face by the older sibling.
Numerous reports state that the NBA is looking into the altercation, but it is unclear what started it.
“At this time, no one has come forward as a victim of this incident,” the Denver Police Department stated in a statement, as reported by ESPN.
“The Department is actively investigating this incident, looking for the person who was struck in the video, and encouraging anyone who was there or saw it firsthand to get in touch with the Denver Police Department.”
After the hit, the two remained acerbic with one another, and Nemanja, the other brother, was present as well.
In the footage, three women seem to be making an effort to cool people down and prevent the brothers from stirring up trouble in the throng.
TMZ reports that one of the ladies was Natalija Jokic, the spouse of Nikola Jokic, who was seen clutching their 1-year-old daughter Ognjena and extending her arm to pull Strahinja back.
Jokic’s brothers frequently get into intense arguments while playing a game.
They famously heckled Jack Nicholson in the Western Conference Finals of the previous year, following the Nuggets’ 3-0 series lead.
One of the brothers was seen on camera applauding Nicholson as the other exclaimed, “See you next year! Goodbye! Goodbye!
The Nuggets, who are ranked second in the Western Conference, overcame a 20-point deficit on Monday night to take a 2-0 series lead.
On Monday, Jokic finished with 27 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists to earn a triple-double. He scored 32 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in Game 1.
