In the second game of their first-round playoff series, Murray scored a stunning fadeaway buzzer-beater over Anthony Davis to help the Denver Nuggets defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 101-99. As the clock was running out and the game was deadlocked, Murray drove at Anthony Davis before taking a step back and firing.

Murray fell into the Nuggets bench as his shot went down perfectly over the Lakers big man, which sparked a wild celebration at Ball Arena in Denver.

The Lakers led for most of the game, including by 20 points early in the third quarter. But as they inevitably do, the defending champions got up off the mat and rallied to cut the lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter.

That’s when two-time MVP Nikola Jokic took over and the Nuggets tied the game with just over a minute remaining.

Jokic finished with a triple-double scoring 27 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists. Murray had 20 points, but none bigger than his buzzer-beater.

For the majority of the contest, the Lakers held a 20-point advantage early in the third quarter. However, the reigning champions rose above the mat and battled back to trim the margin to 10 points going into the fourth quarter, as they always do.

With just over a minute left in the game, the Nuggets knotted it thanks to a play by two-time MVP Nikola Jokic.

LeBron James missed a three-point shot with 16 seconds left, which gave Murray the opportunity to finish the comeback. Both teams then alternated baskets.

On Monday night, Murray scored 14 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, which contributed to a 20-point rally in the second half. As the series moves to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Thursday night, the reigning champs lead the Lakers 2-0 in the series.

Now, the Nuggets have defeated the Lakers in ten straight games.
