Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors’ two-time Most Valuable Player, started his Under Armour Asian Tour in the country from September 6–8. Under Amour said that “basketball is a way of life in the Philippines,” which is why Curry was chosen to go there for the first time.

The Warriors point guard said, “Coming out of the airport seeing about 250 fans trying to get a picture and something like that is the part that I still want to enjoy.”

Curry said at a press conference at BGC that the love and encouragement he has been getting from Filipino fans is what made him want to go back.

Curry saw the sights while visiting Manila in a famous Filipino jeepney. Famous people like the Pope, Coldplay, and the cast of Riverdale have done this on previous visits.

The famous Filipino dessert “halo-halo,” which is made of shaved ice, yam, and fruits, was also given to Curry to try. Tony Bourdain has even said nice things about it. This is something that everyone who visits the Philippines has to do.

Curry competed in the Under Armour Southeast Asia 3×3 tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena while he was there. He and his father Dell Curry beat other father-and-daughter teams to win.
