Steph Curry wears the most underrated luxury sports watch

As it stands, Steph Curry already has one of the biggest watch collections in the NBA, and his newest accessory only adds to that reputation.

Steph Curry Wears The Most Underrated Luxury Sports Watch

There are a lot of stylish watch guys in the NBA’s top league, but the star player for the Golden State Warriors, who led his team to victory in this year’s NBA Finals, has great taste in watches.

Most of the time, he wears Carriers, but his most recent watch is a little different: a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph (ref. 5500V/110A-B481) that he wore this week while hosting the 2022 ESPY Awards.

While most watch fans are familiar with the Overseas, surprisingly few celebrities are seen wearing it. Instead, most male celebrities choose expensive sports watches from Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak or Patek Philippe’s Nautilus and Aquanaut.

We actually think the Overseas is a more interesting watch because it’s not such a big pop culture icon, which is a shame. It’s not as trashy; it’s a piece for real art lovers. No doubt about it, Stephen Curry is a watch freak.

Curry chose a model of this versatile high-end sports watch that has a column-wheel chronograph and silvered counters that look very classy against the black face. With a 52-hour power reserve and water resistance to 150 meters, the Overseas Chronograph is a strong but understated watch that’s great for a jet-setter like Chef Curry.

Today, it’s usual for watch straps to be interchangeable, but Vacheron was a real leader in this area, and the Overseas was one of the first watches to have a quick-change strap system. For the Overseas, you can choose from three straps: leather, rubber, and steel. The steel strap has a clever design that looks like Vacheron Constantin’s Maltese cross logo.

Curry not only hosted the ESPYs, but he also won the award for Best Record-Setting Performance for hitting more 3-pointers than any other player in NBA history this past season.

Curry did accept the award in a very kind way, though. There are a lot of young kids working hard to break records. Taking the award, he said, “I can’t wait to be in the arena when you break this record.” That king is awesome.
