The destiny of the Lakers superstar LeBron James’ son will soon be decided.

In the upcoming weeks, USC freshman Bronny James will consider his options regarding his basketball career. His next decision-making process may expedite if his collegiate coach Andy Enfield leaves USC to seek a vacant coaching position at SMU. 

If he wishes to stay in college for at least one more season, the superstar son of the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James, may choose to enter the transfer portal, return to USC for the 2024–25 season, or declare for the NBA Draft in 2024. 

James entered the 2023 cycle as the No. 28 overall recruit according to 247Sports after graduating from high school. He chose the Trojans over Ohio State and Oregon. After missing the first eight games of his college career due to a terrifying health situation in which he went into cardiac arrest after a summer workout, he played in 25 games this season.

Regarding Bronny’s draft status, LeBron stated, “It’s up to him,” at NBA All-Star Game Weekend last month. It’s the child’s decision. We will, of course, go over the entire procedure. He’s currently in the midst of his season, and the Pac-12 tournament is soon. We will consider our alternatives and allow the child to make the final decision.”

Rich Paul, the CEO of Klutch Sports, who represents both LeBron and Bronny, stated earlier this month that he places more weight on “getting a young player on the right team in the right developmental situation” than he does on a player winning the lottery.

Apart from LeBron’s remarks about his son in public, Bronny hasn’t indicated anything about his plans. This season, Bronny has only given one public speech, which was on December 10 following his collegiate debut versus Long Beach State.

Less than a minute after the loss against LBSU, he made a brief appearance at the podium to thank the trainers, physicians, and support staff that enabled him get back on the field. Although media access to the locker rooms is permitted during the Pac-12 Tournament, James remained silent.

1. Bronny’s season was limited

It’s easy to forget that the terrifying incident that occurred over the summer ended Bronny’s rookie season. Before making a comeback to the court in early December, James missed USC’s three-game summer tour to Greece and Croatia. He also missed the start of fall training. James might have established himself in a more significant role right away if he hadn’t missed time during the previous summer. This season, Bronny was given the opportunity to start a few games after fellow rookie sensation Isaiah Collier suffered a hand injury. Collier’s comeback last month resulted in Bronny playing less minutes. The fact that Bronny is now well is the finest news of all. It is not appropriate to ignore his return to the court due to his last name; rather, it should be welcomed.

2. LeBron wants to play with Bronny
