The designer, Melody Ehsani, recently posted about the snakeskin-patterned, multicolored sneakers on Instagram. She said, “The hamsa (or hand of God) on the sole is a symbol for protection from anything that doesn’t serve your purpose” and “We stand on the shoulders of greats” is written on the inside of the shoe.” The designer spoke about certain features, but the shoes also have custom tongue labels, very detailed lace deubres, and another hamsa graphic in the middle of the throat.

Ehsani has worked with Jordan Brand before, of course. She has made an Air Jordan 1 Mid in bright colors for 2019’s “Fearless 1s” line and an Air Jordan OG with cherry lace deubres in the past. But this is the first time her brand has been seen on an NBA court, and it happened right before the NBA Finals. She might have been a little torn, though, because she and her husband Flea (yes, Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers) are die-hard Los Angeles Lakers fans!
