Following the Nuggets’ Thursday night victory against the Celtics, Nikola Jokic talked candidly about his prospective opponents in the NBA Finals.

Jokic remarked, “They are a really good team.” They essentially have a solution for every situation, whether it be offensive, defensive, or matchup-related. They play incredibly well and are a very well-built team, you know. They are currently the best team in the NBA because of this. It’s quite challenging to play against such group. They are tall and long. They are quite skilled at defending. They have players that are quite intelligent. It’s an excellent group.

Despite their superiority, the Denver Nuggets have a 2-0 regular season sweep of the Boston Celtics. Regardless of how strong their regular season record is, the Denver Nuggets would probably be the betting favourites over the Boston Celtics if the NBA Finals were to begin today.

That being said, nobody can dispute the Boston Celtics’ dominance this year. They have the greatest record in the league for a reason—they have repeatedly defeated opponents. Denver has the advantage in this situation because, despite that, they still haven’t figured out how to win games when they don’t make threes.
