On Tuesday night, Golden State defeated the Washington Wizards 123–112, thanks to 25 points from Klay Thompson and a forgettable performance from Stephen Curry. Chris Paul showed his worth to the team in his return to action after seven weeks away, and the Warriors won the game.

For the first time this season, Curry did not score in the first half (versus Denver on November 23, 2012). Three of his initial seven attempts were airballs, and he missed all seven of them, including a 32-footer right before halftime. He also missed six jumpers from beyond the arc.

The Warriors took control of the game in the third quarter, scoring 38 points to the Wizards’ 17 as Curry made his first basket 53 seconds into the game. While the rest of the Warriors fired 17 for 30 from beyond the arc, he finished with 18 points on 4 of 16 attempts.

With the help of 21 points from Jonathan Kuminga, Golden State took over ninth place in the Western Conference, one percentage point ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers. They have won 11 of their last 14 games.
