Star player for the Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James is nearing the end of his career, but, amazingly, he can still play at a high level 21 years later.
James’s career is legendary. He scored the most points in NBA history last year. Now, the four-time winner wants to add one or two more titles to his list of accomplishments. After making it to the Western Conference Finals, L.A. may be able to win their 18th title soon.
His fame has also not gone down; James has dealt with it through his basketball career, all the way back to his days at St. Vincent-St. Mary’s. Even though he wears purple and gold and is a hero, the Ohio native’s shirt is still the third most popular in the game.
It’s also interesting to note that the Lakers have the best-selling gear in the game. This isn’t a surprise since the L.A. Lakers are one of the most famous sports teams ever.
But it’s really amazing that James’ shirt is still near the top of the best-seller list, given how little time he has spent in the game. Even with all of his awards, LeBron will never be matched by another player because his career is so unique.
As Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, and Devin Booker become more well-known in the league, it will be interesting to see if they can beat James in sales while he is still in the league. Even so, it’s amazing that the Lakers star has managed to keep up this ridiculous fame for 21 seasons and going.
