In three weeks, Stephen Curry will turn thirty-six, but he is far from prepared to discuss retirement.
Following the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, the Golden State Warriors star discussed the topic and expressed his intention to play for many more years.
“I consider it frequently. However, those ideas come to an end because you have to prepare for the next game, Curry told reporters. There is a pattern and a cycle. You accept the present moment. You’ll eventually reach a moment when you wake up and listen to whatever your body or mind are asking you to do. However, I don’t believe I’m even close to that.Curry participated in his tenth All-Star Game and finished with 16 points and 8 assists. Some of the greatest players of all time spent the entire weekend in Indianapolis being honest about their future plans.LeBron James, who turns 40 later this year, acknowledged he has no idea how long he will be in the NBA. The three stars of their generation who are still highly successful in the latter stages of their careers are Curry, James, and Kevin Durant. Big stars like Kyle Lowry, Chris Paul, and Al Horford are still playing, but it’s the aforementioned trio who have fought—and so far won—a historic war against Father Time.Because of his immortal shooting talent, Curry could play in the NBA far into his 40s if he so desired. In regards to Curry, James, and himself playing into their 40s, Durant recently made the similar suggestion. Having said that, Curry’s unique quality is his ability to use his speed to create for himself and make a shot quickly. When that ability starts to fade, we’ll probably witness him leave. For the time being, I think it would be best if we all just relax and enjoy the greatness while it lasts.
