The NBA’s Last Two Minute Report for the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors game is now available.
The NBA has made available their comprehensive Last Two Minute Report for the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors game on Saturday night. The Last Two Minute Report covered a lot of ground, including the highly contentious foul committed against Steph Curry during his boxout of Anthony Davis in the final thirty seconds of regulation, as the game headed into double overtime.
With 28.9 seconds left and Golden State behind by one, Curry was called for a foul against Davis as he tried to box out the Lakers big man. The NBA said in their Last Two Minute report that this was the right decision, saying that “Curry (GSW) makes contact with Davis’ (LAL) left arm and pulls it away from the ball, which affects Davis’ ability to secure the rebound.”
Just two calls on the Last Two Minute Report were found to be erroneous, and they both concerned Draymond Green, the forward for the Warriors. The first occurred while there was just over a minute left in regulation and Green was in violation of defensive three-second rule. The play caused the Lakers to commit a turnover.
With 7.3 seconds remaining in double overtime, the NBA claims that Green should have been called for an offensive foul before Curry made the game-winning three. This is the second and final missed call on the Last Two Minute Report.
There was a lot to analyze in this one, and the NBA claims that the two missed calls were the only bad mistakes made in the final moments of the contest. Everything else, including Draymond Green’s foul on LeBron James that resulted in the game-winning free throws, was ruled to have been called correctly.
