Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has reached a lifetime deal with Nike, two people familiar with the negotiations told USA TODAY Sports

USA TODAY Sports has heard that LeBron James, the Lakers’ star player, has signed a deal with Nike that will last forever.

They asked to stay private because they couldn’t talk to anyone about the deal until Nike made it official.

LeBron James reaches lifetime deal with Nike

James has worked with Nike since the beginning of his time in the NBA. It cost $93 million and lasted seven years. He signed a new deal with Nike in 2010 that paid him more and kept him there longer.

Forbes magazine said that Nike made $340 million selling shoes with James’ name on them between February 2014 and January 2015. Forbes said James makes an extra $44 million a year from deals, on top of the $20 million or more he makes from the Cavaliers.
