Jayson Tatum looked up to Kobe Bryant as a child and was a big fan of the Los Angeles Lakers star. So much did he hate the Boston Celtics that the Black Mamba had ties to the purple and gold.
Tatum has honored Kobe whenever he has the chance since the player died last year in a sad helicopter crash. He got a new tattoo to remember Bryant not long ago.
He used two “black mambas,” which is Kobe’s self-assigned nickname, to make Bryant’s second career number, 24. Another picture of Tatum’s tattoo came out after he posted a picture of it on his Instagram story.
Kobe and JT have been tied before and after Kobe got to the NBA. And they practiced together. Some people, like Gilbert Arenas, think Tatum will be the next Bryant in the NBA.
KB24 thought a lot of Jayson and even asked the Lakers why they didn’t pick him in the 2017 NBA draft. From 2017 to 2020, when Kobe died, they spent some time together.
The Boston Celtics forward has tried to make his idol happy ever since with his play on the court. JT is beginning to reach its peak, and Celtics fans must be excited to see what comes next for their great player.
