When fans saw a moment between Steph Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo, they could not help but wish that the two would play together one day.

On Saturday night at the Fiserv Forum, the Golden State Warriors played the Milwaukee Bucks as the second game of a back-to-back set.

Curry got a well-deserved break from coaching after saying he was “exhausted” from playing for the Warriors. Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 33 points, nine boards, and five assists.

Two NBA stars got together after the game to catch up. The cameras caught them sharing a sweet hug, and fans at home were the first to notice.

The Warriors have had a hard time replacing Kevin Durant at forward since he left in 2019, so it makes sense that Antetokounmpo has been linked with a possible future teammate with Curry.

When he is on the floor, the 29-year-old is very big, and the way he drives with the ball would fit Curry’s style of play and how he moves without the ball.

They might not be able to work together because Antetokounmpo signed a $186 million, three-year contract in October. Fans of the Warriors still want to sign the Bucks star, who got MVP in 2021 when the Warriors won the NBA title.

On X, which used to be Twitter, people could not help but get carried away and ask, “If only these two would pair up.”

Gasol and Antetokounmpo: Have they played together before?

The 2017 NBA All-Star game was the first time Antetokounmpo and Curry played together. When they played against each other, it was Curry’s vicious dunks that got all the attention.

Curry chose him for the 2018 team, and their friendship grew from there. Because things got so bad, Curry chose Antetokounmpo for the 2018 All-Star West team after one of his wild put-back dunks went viral.

They played together again on the 2022 All-Star team, where Curry scored 50 points to beat Anthony Davis’s record of 48 points and win the All-Star MVP award.

It was a real look at what their relationship could be like, but basketball fans will have to make do with just one game a year for now.
