Klay Thompson scored 30 points to lead the Warriors to a 140-131 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Friday at United Center.

The triumph, Golden State’s third in the last nine games, began in an ugly fashion.

The Warriors conceded 75 points in the first half, as the Bulls shot 61.9% from three. It was the fourth time in five games that the Warriors allowed more than 70 points in a half, as the Draymond Green-less defense continued to exhibit flaws.

The Warriors responded with a 48-point third quarter, their greatest total of the season. Thompson finished 5-for-5 from three to complete the quarter with 17 points.

The Bulls nearly squandered a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter, but Steph Curry converted a poor night into a 27-point performance, including six 3-pointers and nine assists. Thompson went 9-for-19 from the field and 7-for-15 from three.

Jonathan Kuminga scored 24 points, going 9-for-12 from the field and making all four three-pointers.

The Warriors will resume their road trip on Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks before traveling to Memphis for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day matinee against the Grizzlies. The road trip concludes against the Utah Jazz.
