It looks like the Golden State Warriors need to move.
The Golden State Warriors lost to the New Orleans Pelicans by a huge score at home on Wednesday night. It was probably the most eye-opening loss of the season for them. The Warriors have already lost some very bad games this season, but this is the worst their home record has ever been. This is especially true given where Golden State is in the standings.
Before the trade deadline, Steph Curry was asked about the big choices that Golden State’s management might have to make. He replied, “We have a standard that is pretty clear that if things stay the same—that is the definition of insanity, right?” “Do the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome.”
Curry went on to say that the players need to manage their effort and attention every night, rather than letting outside noise and rumors distract them. However, Curry also made it clear that he knows what is going on with the Warriors right now can not last if they want to be a real team.
It is pretty clear that this Warriors team is not good enough to fight for a title. Everyone on the team says that is their plan, so it is likely that trades will need to be made between now and May 31. Curry said it best: expecting different results while not making any changes would be crazy.
