UNACCEPTABLE: Toronto Raptors coach shows off his angry and bang the table at the referee in the loss to the LA Lakers

Following the Toronto Raptors’ 131-132 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Serbian coach became enraged and reacted angrily against the officiating.

After the Toronto Raptors versus Los Angeles Lakers game, coach Darko Rajakovic was visibly upset as he sat at the news conference table. He smashed the table several times to drive home the idea that his club was denied a win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

After the Lakers scored 23 free throws in the fourth quarter, the Serbian coach criticized the officials. In the final 12 minutes of the game, Anthony Davis alone made 11 free throws, which helped the 1993-born big man post a season-high 41 points.

Furthermore, Davis committed 14 penalties in this game by himself, which is more than the Toronto Raptors’ whole roster (13). With the two sides separated by just one point at the end of the game—132-131—all of these figures marked a turning point in the contest.

Crazy. What transpired today was complete garbage. The Serbian coach, who is in his first NBA season, said, “This is a disgrace for the referee and the tournament when they let this happen.”

“The opposition had 23 free throws in the fourth quarter, while we only had two.” We can’t compete with those kinds of numbers. I am aware that the referee might view things differently because the other team (the Lakers – PV) has great stars, but we also have stars and gain nothing from them.

Toronto coach pounds table, rips officials after Lakers hold off Raptors 132-131 - Pique Newsmagazine

“How is it possible for a player like Scottie Barnes, who is a league All-Star, to make a lot of contact, attack the hoop nonstop, yet only make accurate shots? The entire game saw two free kicks. How is it possible? “Could someone please explain to me?” Mr. Rajakovic pounded the table.

With 11 rebounds and 41 points, Anthony Davis recorded a double-double. To help the Lakers win, he finished with 13–17 FG and 14 free throws, including 8–8 FT in the last minute.

With 12 assists, LeBron James has scored 22 points. During the entire game, the Los Angeles team made 16 3-pointers, with 8 of the 9 players on the court managing at least one successful long-range shot. The top shooter, Cam Reddish, scored 13 points with 4-6 3PT.

The Los Angeles Lakers won two games in a row for the first time in over a month thanks to this outcome. They just shocked everyone by defeating the LA Clippers 106-103 on Monday to snap a four-game losing run.

Four Raptors players, starting with Scottie Barnes, who finished with 26 points, 6 assists, and 2 blocks, were among the players on the opposing team who scored more than 20 points in this game. RJ Barrett (23 points, 10 rebounds, 10–13 FG), Pascal Siakam (25 points), and Immanuel Quickley (21 points, 5 assists) are the remaining players.

During the first four rounds, the whole Toronto Raptors squad shot 8–13 from beyond the arc and fouled 26 times, 10 more than the Los Angeles Lakers. Consequently, the purple and yellow squad made 36 trips to the free throw line, scoring 28 points (77.8% FT rate).

“This is unacceptable, we will not play from the beginning and let them win if everyone wants them to win this match.” The head coach of Toronto continued.

After the Raptors bungled a big trade to acquire RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley from the New York Knicks, they have only lost twice since then. Furthermore, this marks Toronto’s second defeat versus the Los Angeles Lakers in their last nine visits to Crypto.com Arena.
