Boston Celtics star Payton Pritchard signs endorsement deal with Nike

Another star from the Oregon Ducks has joined Nike.

ESPN’s Nick DePaula reported on Tuesday that the Beaverton-based shoe giant has signed Payton Pritchard, a rookie for the Boston Celtics and former star for the Ducks, to an advertising deal.

It’s not the first time Pritchard has worn Nike clothes. The star from West Linn has been wearing Nike PEs (player exclusives) during his first season with the Celtics in the NBA.

This season, Pritchard has done great things for Boston. The 23-year-old was picked 26th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft and is now getting seven points per game off the bench for the Celtics. Pritchard has scored 10 or more points in five of the last six games. On April 23, he scored 22 points against Brooklyn.

Not only has Pritchard signed with Nike, but so has another recent Oregon graduate. In April of last year, Sabrina Ionescu, the triple-double queen and past No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft, signed a multiyear deal with the shoe brand.
