In the past few years, there have been a lot of crossovers between soccer and basketball. For example, PSG and Air Jordan worked together. But none of these were as big as Nike’s most recent “The Chosen 2” collection, which had Kylian Mbappe and LeBron James as stars. We make the case for five more partnerships between basketball and football that we’d love to see happen in the future.
Nike got off to a great start this year by teaming up with two of its biggest stars in a project that goes beyond sports. LeBron James and Kylian Mbappe, who are both kings and princes of Nike, worked together on “The Chosen 2” line to make their signature shoes.
Nike is beginning the inauguration process for Mbappe because he will soon be more famous than James and beat Cristiano Ronaldo as the face of Nike. Because basketball and football are always going hand-in-hand, this relationship made me think of what other partnerships would make sense in those two sports.
To keep things realistic, we will try to stick players to the brands that support them.
